I don’t think the match requires a whole lot of analysis. Those of you who’d like to engage in that sort of thing are welcome to do some in the comments, but I’m going to refrain from it here. I’ve been more hesitant than most to indict this squad for its uninspired play, and this coach for his arrogant and single-minded decision making. But this performance opens the door for criticism from top to bottom. I still believe that the players are more of the problem than the coach. But this was a match where, by late in the 2nd half, I was running through the short list of old Bayern players who could take to the bench in January if necessary. It’s not an inspiring thought.
This is no time for reasoned analysis. So please dear readers, feel free to add your verbal vomit, expletives and other negative feedback, and I’ll try to restore order to the blog in a few days. After all, we still have a couple trophies to try to win.

I had to miss the match completely, and only saw the score long after it was all done and dusted. I don’t know what to say really.
Just a few weeks ago, I was at an away game for my alma mater and we lost to one of the most pathetic teams in college football while being an overwhelming favorite. The opposition fans, usually ones to rub it in, were surprisingly sympathetic: “I’m so sorry you lost to us, we don’t deserve to win with this team…”, and that hurt more. I got the exact same reaction today – folks were sorry for Bayern. I guess I’m sorry too…

Now hold on. Why are you giving up? If Bayern win both their remaining games, and Juventus don’t beat bordeux, the Bayern are through. Winning in Turin is certainly difficult but it is realistic.

Jack, I’m not sure Luke’s giving up as much as he’s preparing for the inevitable. Poor play in recent games has been the norm rather than the exception. From what I read of the reports, Bayern weren’t all that bad, especially in the first half, but then again playing one good half is Bayern MO this season.
To clarify my first post, I’m not implying Bordeaux was bad, it’s just that recently, Bayern seems to find a way to lose rather than win.

A Kap is right, since late September POOR play has definately been the NORM! It’s clear their is a real underlying problem in the team and it seems even LvG can’t put his finger on the problem either! So much for being a Dutch Master?
I was very hopeful during September when we seem to be hitting our straps. With the exception of wunderkind Thomas Mueller the rest of the team appears to be really labouring this season and it looks as though our attack is even more toothless than an elderly person without dentures!
I can’t wait for Bayern to bring back young Toni Kroos, man we need a creative midfielder right now! Robben has not done much since his debut game against Wolfsburg! Van Bommel is only good for accumulating yellow cards and deserves to be pensioned off for good!
With the exception of Braafheid and Pranjic the rest of the defense appears to be more solid than last term. I agree putting Lahm on the left and switching Altintop to the right of the defense sounds like a good move to me!
Even though Lahm has performed well on the right side of the defense!I think after the Bordeaux defeat at home the Bayern hierarchy will definately be starting to bite their finger nails, because at the same stage last season we were already qualified for the second stage of the Champions League under Klinsmann, we were scoring more goals with fewer strikers in our ranks, and we had accumulated more points in the bundesliga after 11 games.
Last season the problem was in defense when Demichelis and Lucio (when he wasn’t scoring own goals) opened the gate in the centre of the park far too often! I think LvG may have a month in which to turn Bayern’s fortune around?
