Bayern’s new Away Jersey
By: Angela | May 14th, 2008
So the rumored new away kit is blue. Really? Well, Luca Toni likes it, but then why wouldn’t he… he looks good in blue. I’m not really sure if they’re going to follow through with this or not, but blue? Seriously? I like it okay, but blue? I don’t know about the blue. Wouldn’t that make our kits the same color as 1860 Munich? Just sayin’.
I don’t mind blue. Blue is actually my favorite color, but it’s not really the first color that comes to mind when I think Bayern Munich. Red, Maroon, white… but blue? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens once the new year starts and the official announcements come. Also, I’ve seen the new BvB kits and I rather like the tops, but the socks? Ouch.
Maybe that’s just me being picky though.

Angela, for some reason…this kind of reminds me of the Hamburg current jersey (one of it is in this colour). Just saying.

Well at least it’s not gold. That might be the worst Bayern jersey ever. Is this a pretty reliable source Angela? I have been looking a lot of places online, but hadn’t seen this yet. It’s not really a ripoff of 1860, because it’s not close to the same shade of blue–still, I don’t like it much. It would probably be ok as a Champions League jersey however. Boring as it may seem, I’d like to see a whiter variation on the home jersey for the new away one.

Hmmm… I read an article saying Bayern would get a fourth star for winning their 20th Championship. Blue is an odd choice, though not a bad color.

Luke: It’s rumored to be the new shirt. It’s turned up on a couple football forums, but there is nothing official about it. In one of the forums, a poster talked about asking a store clerk about it and he couldn’t say anything. Wouldn’t confirm or deny this was the new shirt, only that he’s not allowed to talk about it. I agree on the whiter variation. This would be okay for a CL for sure, but not sure at all about it being an away jersey.
Diana: Good point. Hadn’t thought of that.
To the other poster: We didn’t STEAL anything. It’s just a color.

Juliet: Rumor has it that they’ll add the star. This is just a mock up of what it is suppose to look like. It’s not confirmed yet though.

Good point Juliet. For a while I thought they just weren’t going to let anyone exceed three stars, because Bayern had reached 20 titles 2 years ago, but I guess it has to be Bundesliga titles for a multi-star display, and Bayern’s first title came in the 30’s. Well I’m hoping that the missing star is a sign that this is a fake. But I’m thinking we should not the truth very soon, they’d be crazy not to have it on sale for the final home match, in whatever form it takes.

We’ll have to wait it out and see what it looks like in the end.

No, no waiting, I want instant gratification!

Luke: Instant gratification is the best, but unfortunately we wait.. we could sing a song or something in the meantime

‘Good point. Hadn’t thought of that. :)’
Sing a song? Given Luke want instant grafitication, it actually kind of reminded me of something. Back when I was still in school, I used to hear this chant from the guys in my class that if there is something they cannot wait, they will chant in a sing-song voice (most of the time more than once) - ‘Why are we waiting?’.
Good times…

Actually singing Stern des Süden over and over would be fine with me

I can give it a try Luke but I won’t swear that it will be the best you’ve ever heard.

It is blue huh?
The red home one stinks because it has gay spanish stripes.
If the jersey is solid in color and not yellow or gold,
it gets the ok. I prefer gray or white for the road shirt though. Solid Red at home. ThanksPosted from

I don’t know about this… I guess it makes sense since the home jersey is white/red, and there must be a contrast change between home and away jerseys. one must be dark, the other one bright. Too bad it looks like this though, the old away jersey was probably the best ever, including every other team… I bought one, so did 2 of my friends and I gave another one as a bday present away. more a fashion statement than anything else

But I did read on a german website that it is rumored that the new jersey is blue and some fans were going to boycott their season tickets if it’s true, so we’ll see, i guess.Posted from

I wouldn’t go so far as to boycott my season tickets, but to each their own right?
I still haven’t heard anything official on this yet, but as soon as I do it’ll be posted.Posted from

The new road will be Navy Blue and the new Champions League
one will be white with red numerals. The recent road white was the best ever. They only last 2 years and adidas makes the change. Its a money thing.
This info comes from a e-mail from the Bayern Munich web-site.
The blue shirt will come out before next season(2008/9)It will be very dark blue.Posted from
