Manchester City Target: Podolski
By: Angela | January 6th, 2008The latest to hit the January transfer rumor mill is that Man City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has a target in his sights: Lukas Podolski. Rumor has it that he plans on pulling off the bigest coup of the transfer window by taking Lukas on loan until the end of the season. Poldi has struggled to regain his spot since his injury and the signings of Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni. Perhaps Man City would give him the chance to get his form back and then he could go to a team where he could get the permanent impression of the bench off his ass.
We’ll have to see what develops out of all these rumors, but so far, for Bayern, the only transfer that’s taken place is our young Mats over to the BvB.

Go for it! If you can’t get him, go for Saviola! Both are currently, big wastes of potential..

Bayern wouldn’t have any depth with just Klose and Toni up front. So unless they bring in a Podolski replacement in the winter he – unfortunately – won’t go anywhere. Though I could imagine ManCity being a more attractive address for Hoeness than all the Bundesliga clubs, who are currently lining up to sign Podolski. Hoeness wouldn’t strengthen a direct competitor in the league and ManCity has more money to spend.

Bayern won’t let him go. They’ve said that Klinsmann sees him as an integral part of the team next season so they have put the kibash on any sale of Poldi.
