'I will see what I can do for you on the Miro front ;)'
:)

Anyhow, van Bommel is back in the international fold once more with the Dutch national team, Angela. Or at least Bert van Marwijk (or the father-in-law) has named him in his provisional squad in a friendly against Russia on August 20 - http://www.sportinglife.com/football/overseas/germany/news/story_get.dor?STORY_NAME=international_feed/08/08/06/SOCCER_Ned-Holland_Squad.html&TEAMHD=germany

August 15 will be when the final squad will be announced.

LUKE: I have to agree. I really wished Sagnol would transfer out of Bayern this summer, but I guess given how poor his recent form has been, there were no takers for him. But he used to be one of my favourite players for Bayern in former years - and regardless of his most recent performance, it's really sad to see a former great end his career (pure speculation, of course) on this kind of injury. Does indeed give pause for thought.
SHANE: I just got back home from the stadium, and sadly have to agree. How frustrating to see Bayern dominate, yet fail to score a goal. Not to mention having to suffer through was it 2 or 3 scenes of Lucio plowing blindly forward and then losing the ball?! I also have to agree that Kroos was indeed the bright spot of the evening. He's definately caught onto the quick one-touch passing system - it even seems he's a bit too quick for some of his teammates. Hope they catch up soon.

What did you guys think of the 5-3-2 formation? I thought it was fantastic - gave Lahm and Lell lots of room to play forward. What a shame Demichelis had to leave the match so early, when they switched back to 4-4-2 the match seemed to really run out of steam.

Let's hope that this is just an example of what Klinsman meant when he said his preparations are designed to have the team in shape by the 15th of August - and let's hope we see a different Bayern on that date!

MachaholiQ8... stick around and you'll see, Mark is the epitomy of Sexy to me. I've got quite a big crush. That will be evident the longer you read the blog.

I didn't think today's match was spectacular for either side. Rensing was great most of the time and Inter's keeper was top notch. Some of the passing was terrible, some of the defending was terrible. I'm working on a post about it all though.

Looked like a standard Bayern game: gave up a completely stupid goal on another defensive marking error then proceeded to dominate possession and chances but failed to make anything great develope in the final third. Both teams were playing at about 75% pace and nobody seemed to care a bit about who won.

Only bright spot was Kroos who continues to impress and was unlucky to not score at least 1 goal. The second shot had one heck of a save.

Very well written article but let's agree on something here, now I don't know about you girls and how you define "sexy" but Van Bommel is nothing near that word. He's not even close to half handsome if that can be said. In other words he's an ugly b@stard, however, we do agree that he's an outrageous player, outstanding leader, and the right man for Every job. I can never stop thanking Barcelona for selling him to my one and only team Bayern.

Too bad we lost against Inter Milan today but hey, we played pretty well and that what really counts. We have a whole new season to make up for losing friendlies. :)

Harry: I'm not disappointed. I was just giving you a hard time. ;) Mark has definitely had a temper in the past on the pitch. He's getting better, but it's not uncommon for him to get carded. He's settled a bit, but still gets into trouble from time to time. I will certainly add Oli to the list of player profiles. :)

Van Basten: We enjoy the game just as much as the players. There isn't anything wrong with that. :) Currently, Mark has been the only Captain in pre-season games. It has been handed over to other players, but never when Mark has been on the pitch. In his absence, it was Lucio and Demichelis. They have yet to name the permanent Captain, but I'm hoping the preseason will be the trend we continue to see into the season.

I don't look for Sagnol to be playing much longer. Especially now that he has picked up another injury. That doesn't bode well for his career.

I'm glad you like the blog!

Hey! I didn't watched that video, you know. I only remembered the Ivory Coast and the Netherlands last met during the 2006 World Cup. That is it. I was only answering what Harry asked.

I can't believe you girls...I mean Angela and Diana, enjoyed watching this video of Drogba touching Van Bommel's private area. Maybe you girls do love bad boys and thats why you enjoy football so much!!!Bad Girls!
By the way, this was the 2nd game of the first of WC2006, and we won 2:1 against a very good Ivory Coast.
By the way, its half-time between Bayern and Inter, and the score is 0:0. Who is the Captain for Bayern?
Why is Sagnol still playing for Bayern? He retired from International competition at the 2008 Euro after a bysmal defensive showing against the Dutch, without Van Bommel.
Nice blog Angela!

Angela: I'm sorry to disappoint you, I didn't want to compare Mark to Drogba. The difference between them is obvious, I just wanted to say that both of them are warm-headed or hot-blooded (actually I don't know which word is better), however I haven't known this of Mark yet, and it was hard to believe, because he is a friendly guy from pictures or videos. Today I saw the summary of Bayern-Bochum (last season), and I saw Mark getting two yellow cards, so I have to believe he has this mentality on the pitch. Anyway, I like both Mark and Drogba, and Angela, you made me really like Mark Peter Gertuda Andreas van Bommel ;)
Will you do Oli Kahn as well? Summarizing his career, maybe. I'm waiting for everybody since I don't want to make comparisons between the members... :P Errr... What is BFF?
