He leaves pending a medical. It’s a start. What will be interesting to see is how he fits into Mourinho’s scheme. I’m not sure he will be keen to see Lucio venturing forward at all.

The fact that Lucio is halfway out the door is already good enough news for me. I really hope he leaves!

Cue the “Ode to Joy”, Lucio is gone!!! And we’re even getting enough (€8-10 mil) to almost pay for our right back. To be fair, it’s not every day you get a central defender the size of Lucio in your squad, and he will have the Bundesliga record for least goals conceded in a season on his resume. He did have his moments. But the moments we’ll all remember are the ones he was 3 steps behind for no reason, or acting like Van Buyten was on the other team (how many times did you yell “TALK TO EACH OTHER!!” at your screen in 06-07?) or taking a horrific angle on an attacker, or wandering way too far forward to help against an expert counter. Ah, this is like getting a splinter removed or stepping into the air conditioning, escaping the July heat. Well done Uli and Louis!

Off topic, but with the brouhaha about Landon Donovan’s comments regarding Beckham, I wonder what people at FCB thought about him during his loan spell.

I personally was never a fan of Donovan professionally, but with his performance at the Confederations Cup as player and captain, and history of whining, I don’t think he has the attitude to play in any of the bigger European leagues. I’m glad he doesn’t have a contract in Munich.
