The Getafe game will be very interesting. Getafe is playing like they have nothing to lose (very dangerous for opponents), while it seems like our players are looking over their shoulders all the time and finding inventive ways to distract themselves from playing the game (van Bommel’s referee obsession, Kahn’s Klinsmann outburst, and just about every defender’s transfer speculation). While we played well in the second half last week, I’m not feeling too great about the way that we are finishing the season.

Today is why you pay the megastars and coaches their megabucks. To take the team on their shoulders and ignore all of the distractions and produce to put their team in a winning position. We’ll learn a lot today, not only about Hitzfeld and his tactics for dealing with the tricky away-goal situation, but also our current stars and their ability to produce under pressure.
