Diana – Ray is fantastic. He certainly gets you into the game. I adore him and can’t wait for the commentary this season. I just hope that we’ll get the Sunday matches. That doesn’t bode well for us in the US really. We’ll just have to wait and see. I’d love an all Bundesliga channel here in which Ray was one of the commentators!

Anything is fine with this Stuttgart fan here. Angela, yeah. So caught up with Euro 2008 and now…time to take a breather.

Now I have to wait till December before Bayern comes to town. To the Mercedes-Benz-Arena, I mean. Ah, the final day of the season as well…

And my hope one day is that we will get Bundesliga coverage on the TV here…though I’m not optimistic it will happen in the near future (the next best thing is to see Klinsmann on Champions League matchdays). Me – Two seasons of following the Bundesliga through the Internet and live streaming.

From the live streaming, I normally get the GOLTV commentary (though Ray Hudson don’t always do Bundesliga commentaries…but I rememered he did when Bayern was playing Hertha on the final Bundesliga matchday in the previous season), or the Chinese commentary from China’s CCTV (they have a channel just for sports and I should know…I was in China for the first time last year with my family and other than meeting my relatives there which was the main purpose of the trip, we also did some sight-seeing). Regarding the latter…I am okay with it given it’s my second language (as a result of my Chinese ancestry, I have to study that back in school). So I can still roughly understand what the commentators are saying.

Well, obviously the the DFL is hoping for a more dramatic final matchday than this past season! I haven’t totally picked apart the schedule yet, but I also don’t like having to play Bremen just after the first CL matchday. But the stretch after that, up to the Schalke match should be a good one, and Ribery should be at full strength by then. One thing I am concerned about is: having a single Sunday match at night CET. Obviously it makes sense economically for the German domestic market (in some ways it’s a surprise all Saturday matches aren’t at night), but I doubt we’ll see *any* Sunday Bundesliga matches live in the U.S. when they are in direct conflict with La Liga. GOLTV has the new contract to cover all the German national team friendlies and qualifiers up through the World Cup (aren’t you pumped for going up against Liechtenstein September 5? I’m hoping Ray Hudson has a story about some girl from Schaan) but I don’t think their commitment to Germany is such that they’ll preempt Barcelona to give us Bayern.

Ah, it’s the Angela we all know again.

And yes, kicking off my birthday in a big way with my most favourite coach during the World Cup being back coaching again and doing so in the opening day of the new season. All the more sweeter.

August 15…very easy to remember the opening day of the new Bundesliga season. It’s actually my birthday! What a ‘birthday present’ for me.
