Bayern München 1 - 0 1860 München
By: Angela | February 27th, 2008
Bayern Munich beat out 1860 Munich in extra time with a penalty shot in by Franck Ribery. The penalty by Ribery was disputed due to replays appearing to show Klose being brought down outside of the penalty area. Toni was sent off at the 84th minute for retaliating against Markus Thorandt. This made the match uneven until 1860’s Schwarz was sent off in the 111th minute for shoving Ribery off the ball.
Mark had another great volley, but it was stopped by Tschauner. Philipp Lahm also had a chance, but it went just wide. Ribery took the first penalty shot, but had to redo it because Luio went into the penalty box too early. See… things like this are why I am not such a fan of his… I’m not sure what happened after that, but Thorandt was also sent off near the end of the game.
All in all a good effort from my Bayern boys.
Below is a break down of yellow cards as they were awarded and goals.
// F. Ribery {pen} (120′)
// Kroos, Toni, Thorandt, Hoffmann
Toni (84′), B. Schwarz (111′), M. Thorandt (120′)
