Bayern Trikots

I like the blue. I don’t like the CL one so much with the pink and black logo. Thoughts?
Why is the home jersey the only one with the weird star arrangement when these have the nice line layout?

Wow, they just keep updating pictures. I checked the teams shop earlier this morning and the Home jersey had the 4 stars with the funky layout, the away jersey only had 3 stars, and the Champions league jersey had the 4 stars arranged the “way they should be”. Then I see your post and see Mark in the blue with 4 stars, go back to the team site and its been updated to show the 4 star design.

Man I’m getting really good at double posting on this site (they really need to let you edit your posts). Anyhow as for my thoughts, I like the Champs jersey, the multicolored logo doesnt bother me they had that several years ago when the jersey was that greyish white color before (I think about 5-6 years ago. Before there were any stars on the jersey). As for the Away, I think the blue looks good (still like the one from the last 2 years better though) but am not a fan of the silkscreend or however they are applied diaginal stripe things coming off the right side of the front. Also I HATE the stripes on the sleaves only coming halfway down the arm. I know this is consistant with all Adidas kits this year but I just plain don’t like it.

Adam: I’ll admit it, I was too busy looking at Mark to notice much else.
I’m not a fan of the half stripe on the sleeve either. I like the 4 stars arranged ‘properly’ rather than one on top, but that’s just me.

Why they couldn’t get the 4 stars nicely lined up on the new home jerseys? My husband suspects they still had too many in stock from last season, and just got busy sewing extra stars on top…
… but I sure hope that’s not why!!
I kept hoping these wouldn’t be the final-final versions, but if they’re on sale online now, I guess we’d better get used to them.
I’m not sure if I’ll ever get used to the away jerseys though – I mean what were they thinking?? There are two clubs in Munich: Bayern and 1860. Red and blue. Even if this blue is dark – it’s still blue. And the red team just shouldn’t wear blue. Period. I wonder why they didn’t just update the old black jerseys?

are you guys keeping the same home shirt that you had last year?

Elizabeth – I liked the black jerseys a lot as well. I was hoping for a similar design this season.
Yes, we’re keeping the same home jersey’s with a fourth star atop the middle one in the row of three.

There was a little blurb in Bild a few days back with Karl Hopfner saying the 4th star was added above for “visual reasons” but I’m not sure the badge is sized any different on the new jerseys, so why the star arrangement would be different, I don’t know. Nod nod, wink wink Karl, I think Elizabeth’s husband has it right.
Well, the away jersey does not excite me, but I’m not opposed to it just because it’s blue. There was a jersey in the late 90’s (it was definitely an Opel jersey–someone help me if they know) that was navy blue with a red bar across the front–it wasn’t a bad jersey.
The Champions League jersey is a little better. I would have liked all red lettering but no biggie. It’s an improvement over the marroons of the last CL campaign. Overall, both jerseys represent a sort of break with tradition, which is part of what Klinsmann is about.
Does anyone know of any tv coverage for the Supercup match tomorrow night? I was thinking there might be a ProSieben feed, but it doesn’t look like it.

I think the Away jersey is pretty cool, the the Champions League one is crap. I think it is way too plain. The maroon was pretty good and the gold was alright. I’m not a big fan of the Home hoops either. Prefer the old ‘99-’00 jerseys much more, but that’s just me I guess.

Luke – The Dortmund match is being broadcast on German free-TV tonight on the Sat-1 channel, not on Pro-7. I surfed the Sat-1 site (www.sat1.de/sport) but it’s not clear to me if they have a stream on their website. Good luck finding a stream!

Luke, I’m ready to buy into the “visual reasons” argument. I think lining up the 4 stars like on the new kits wouldn’t work too well with the stripes of the old kit. Not that the alternative they came up with looks that much better though…

Elizabeth: Thanks for the tip! Of course I hadn’t checked Sat-1. I guess I was used to Pro7 from the UEFA Cup. So anyway, maybe it’ll be out there to pick up.
Jan: Ok, I’m willing to grant there was actual reasoning involved. But, either way it doesn’t look great.

Mehmet Ekici must have read my review of his performance over the weekend..

A welcome bit of summer entertainment, though I enjoyed Hertha’s goals galore against Otaci more. Now I’m just waiting whether the tabloids will get any Klinsmann campaign going already, or whether they understand the concept of pre-season.

That will be really interesting to see, Jan.

One more jersey comment: Today the new Torwart Trikot is out, and I think it might be the best of the new batch! Makes Chelsea’s away kit look dim by comparison..

Wow, have any of you seen the video from the release of these kits. How much drugs were the people who came up with this on and how are they keeping straight faces during this. Link is from pies.

Adam: Isn’t the presentation just laugh worthy? I had a hard time not crying from laughter. How everyone is not rolling on the floor is beyond me.
