Andy: Mark’s father in law, Bert van Marwijk, will be taking over for Oranje in July. He has been asked several times if that means that Mark will be back on the team and van Marwijk has only replied that he will have the best players on the pitch… When Mark was asked, he of course said he’d love to play, but ultimately it’s up to the coach. I find it hard to believe that he wouldn’t be selected after his father in law picks up the team. Not because he’s his father in law, but because he deserves to play for the national side. And the new coach being his father in law is just a bonus

Well, van Bommel ought to be back on the Dutch roster as the coach is his father in law!

But wasn’t there a new Dutch coach? I forget what actually happened, but I think that the new coach said there was a chance Mark would be put on the roster. Angela I’m sure you know what actually happened. Some enlightenment would be wonderful

van Bommel won’t be playing in the Olympics. Bayern have already told him no and he won’t fight that… I am not entirely sure that wasn’t to shield him since the Olympic coach said that team would mirror the National Team and we all know currently van Bommel is not a memeber of that side.

Demichelis has always seemed like a good dude in my book. Really nice to see a player who feels the club is more than just the signature on the paychecks. I hope the club sees his devotion and lets him play in the Olympics with van Bommel.
