I would rather see Klose/Podolski than Toni/Podolski. I don’t think that Klinsmann will let Klose go either. Podolski does a fine job in International duty, but it’s team duty that is lacking. We can argue all day that he needs team time to develop and that’s true, but when Klose is creating chances for both teams and Podolski is doing better for the NT than his regular team, it’s easy to see why he sits on the bench a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a fantastic player and he is definitely capable of being first team material. He just has to be consistent and he’s not really all that consistent lately. He takes a lot of shots himself, but doesn’t create a lot of opportunity for his mates yet.

Aaron! Sorry for your loss of Hamit. I feel for you. You know how much the Mark suspension hurt me. Hopefully Hamit will make a speedy recovery and be back in time for Euro 08 like he wants.

Podolski’s creating mad goals, especially in international duty. I see him as a very similar player to Klose, actually. I could see letting Klose go for a significant sum and playing Toni/Podolski next year. I think he just needs first team time to develop… the quality is there. Yeah, I think Altintop is a big loss, he seems to do a lot for the team. I cheer for Turkey (after Deutschland, of course) so I hope to see him well for the Euro at least.

I completely agree with Angela. Klose’s vision is great and he has created a good number of goals for others. That said, I also agree that Podolsk deserves to start. When he has time to get into the flow of play and concentrate (to me he seems easily distracted), he’s a quality forward.

And while I think Hitzfeld has done well with this squad this year, I think he could have had a better rotation policy with the midfield and forward units.

Hamit’s my favorite player on the team, so I’m devastated.

The only upside I see to Klose versus Podolski is that Klose consistently creates chances for other players even when he’s not scoring. However, Lukas has earned the chance to start in Klose’s place. It’s his position to lose at this point. He is capable, but he hasn’t been the best on the pitch as of late. Hopefully that will be changing.

But Klose doesn’t play consistently either. In fact he didn’t play all that well recently. I don’t see a reason why Hitzfeld should pick Klose over Podolski at the moment, unless Klose fits his tactical ideas better.

I don’t agree about Podolski…. unless he can be consistent and right now, he’s not consistent at all. He has a good game and then has several terrible games. Consistency is key to breaking into the 11 and right now he just doesn’t have it.

Toni, however, generally scores in each game..

Congratulations to my favourite player in Bayern and Germany Podolski…….u finally did it man….next year he will be the star @ Bayern along with Klose (Toni will leave or will sit on the bench because he sucks and misses too many chances)…..
