He intends to come over to the MLS, but I don’t know why….. I enjoy watching him play so it would be great to see him stay, but he’s already said he’d leave after this year.

I guess I was merely hoping that Ze Roberto would stay, he is such an anchor in the midfield, but with Tim Borowski coming in he is likely the odd man out.

Ze won’t be there after this year and I would suspect that they want to pick someone who will be with them a few more years rather than picking someone to fill for a year and then turning around and picking another…

If Van Bommel can stay on the pitch long enough he’d make a decent captain

If I were a betting man I would probably pick Ze Roberto…with Van Bommel a close second.

Juliet: I agree completely. He sets a very good example for the entire team. And the younger players coming up. Plus, he has the respect of his teammates. I’ll get you all over to the MvB side yet

For me, there is no question. He’s got the steadiness and wisdom that comes with age and experience. MvB has evolved into a true leader both on and off the pitch.
