A Kap: I think leaving van Bommel out has been detrimental to the team. Not that that's a big secret or anything.

I also think that Poldolski plays with his emotions and his heart has never been in it at Bayern. It's time for them to break up for the benefit of both parties. Poldolski is capable of much more than he's giving at Bayern. There is proof of that at the National level. He needs to play for a team that he -wants- to perform his best for and honestly, if everyone were honest, Bayern has never gotten the best of Podolski.

"With the exception of Podolski, who couldn't have looked more wooden and inanimate if he had been put on the pitch as a cardboard cut-out, they ran around like kindergarten toddlers on a sugar rush, and forgot about any defensive responsibilities." - Rafael Honistein, about the Bochum game.

I don't think it would be too far off to say, Podolski plays off his emotions, which would explain his success at Cologne and for the Nationalelf. It seems to be work for him at Bayern, and will also be if he goes move to the Premiership. Klose now seems to be moving into the Bergkamp mould, and maybe Klinsi could set up his scheme that way. Of course, Poldi would work better as an Henry-incarnate than Toni, but it sure looks like Poldi doesn't want to be here so a tweak could possibly be worked out without being a complete carbon copy.

I think Klinsi is being too gung-ho with his tactics, especially when virtually everyone else would shut up shop on a 3-1 lead. Getting Van Bommel at that point would have been stabilizing. Arsene Wenger toned down Arsenal's play during their Europe run a couple of years ago with great success (before Lehmann shot down any chance of victory in the final), and with Klinsi's tinkering with the formation, maybe he's trying something in a similar vein?

Hopefully Klinsi will figure things out soon enough, especially with this international break to ponder over tactics...

"It’s really this simple. Klose works well with Podolski. Toni works well on his own with Ribery working behind him. Mixing and matching outside of those parameters becomes a formula for frustration. So either go with the 4-2-3-1 with Toni holding as I keep harping upon; or, bench Toni and play two complementary forwards. It ain’t rocket science." ~bundesligatalk.com

General but good Points.. How far off do you think?

Here's my babbling for the day...

Klose, Toni, and Poldi is out of form. The midfield is scoring the lion's share of goals. I'm starting to wonder about the merits of releasing Schlaudruff. Not many options should one go done, and Jan has really found personal success in Hannover.

About Klinsi, I really really want to give him the benefit of the doubt, I say the clock starts ticking at the winter break.

Jocamryn: I don't think Toni is even an option. I don't think Bayern would allow it. However, I do think it's time for Bayern and Podolski to break up. The relationship soured long ago and it's not benefiting either party anymore.

"It now appears that not only will Spurs make a move for Podolski, but also Toni (left), who is the player keeping Podolski out of the starting line-up at Bayern, with it reported that a £35million offer will be made to lure the pair to the Premier League." ~www.premiershiplatest.com

Luca is definitely NOT for sale. However... 35M (Pounds) for him would be casue for them to consider. I would pizz me off though and hopefully the Hoeness lays down the Law that NO ONE is for sale.

Thanks for letting us know about the article. I feel bad for him because he SHOULD be playing for BOTH teams. I would hate to see him leave, but one can't really blame him since there is no reason for this. I hope he'll get back in the lineup and continue with the NT as well.

In the paper here this morning there was a one page article on Mark in which he talks about his current situation and about how it's all upside down from what it used to be. He's now a wanted player for the Dutch National team and benched at Bayern instead of not being wanted at all in the Dutch team and being cherished at Bayern.Plus he talks about the German yellow press making up half of what they write so he pretty much chooses not to say much in any interview.
