I’m not sure about it. Playing the second match at home, can have an advantage if you get an away goal or otherwise good result in the first leg. Though, I think Schalke wouldn’t have made it to the next round had they played their second leg at home. Trying to overcome a very likely loss from the first round is not what Schalke are known for.

I’m pretty certain Bayern will win their home match. It wouldn’t even matter if Getafe score goals as long as Bayern win. Because I don’t think Getafe can put so much pressure on Bayern at their stadium, without being punished from counter attacks.

I am uncertain about the first match being at home.. I always feel like there is a distinct advantage to the first leg being away.

From a Bayern perspective, I think the two most dangerous teams left were Fiorentina and Getafe. However, I like the fact that Bayern are at home back to back weeks in the Bundesliga during that sequence. In the weekend between the matches, Bayern will be home to Bochum while Getafe will be at Barcelona.

While Getafe will be dangerous, I’m relieved we didn’t get PSV.
