Jocamryn: I am not a fan of Lell. At all. Lahm will be sorely missed. Hopefully Oddo can make up for someone who is sub-par in comparison. Lahm will definitely be missed.

Poldi looks to be starting for 3 BL fixtures as Luca is out for at least 10 days. Kudos to Luca for playing through the pain. Poldi needs to seize this opportunity. However honestly, this is the exact reason why we have extra stikers. This resloves the questions about Luca being out of form. He’s been medically benched, hopefully he can regroup and find his form during his break.

What concerns me is that Lahm is out of the mix for a month with Lell filling in for him. We got Oddo to replace Jansen, ensuring that Lell had more time to grow. Now we have no choice…. Lahm, we’ll miss you, PLEASE get well a quickly as you can!

Jocamryn: I am jealous.. be sure to give Mark some American love for me. I’m with you, I’m an Oddo fan. I wish he would stay on with us! I have been converted that’s for sure.

I missed the CL game, but have seen highlights. I’m glad to see that Klose seems to be finding his form. Hopefully it will stick!

Off Topic:

1) CL Game last night! Unbelievable, with some defensive improvements, we’ll be inflappable.

2) It’s official, I’m a Massimo Oddo fan. Once I find out his stay is more permanent his jersey is going in my collection.

3) Kevin Kuranyi looks to be teetering on leaving shalke during the winter pause….. Given the OPTEMPO on our team, could he fit in? In form, I think he’s top flight. If we could build 2 pairs of striker partners we could really put it to the competiton having fresh strikers every other match.

An additional striker and a back fielder would imrove our depth, however once again, create internal rivalries.

I’ll be home from Iraq in time for the Bucharest CL game on the 25/11, I’ll be sitting in sect. 244 or 306 at the Arena, still waiting to get home before I lock anything in. Should it fall through, I’ll be visiting the Sebener Strasse before the winter pause for autographs again.

jocamryn: I agree that the egos need to be checked, but ego is a big part of Poldi’s problem. However, I do think it’s time to try the Podolski/Klose combination because Toni is having a rough period.

zermatt: I completely agree with you about Lucio. I just can not find a reason to see this world class player that everyone keeps telling me he is. I really just don’t see it.

Correct jocamryn, “Egos need to be checked in at the door when players walk onto the pitch” that’s why Bayern need to desperately drop the lose cannonball named Lucio onto the bench. He’s gonna cost Bayern with his continued sloppiness in defense!

Poldi is a world class player, He has proven that at the WC06 and Euro08. Klinsi Contradicted himself. Toni is out of form, so WHY isn’t he riding the bench? I acknowledge that he has proven his standing over and over, but he’s in a slump and we need to do whatever it takes to win. Egos need to be checked in at the door when the players walk onto the pitch.

Jan: I am not a fan and I don’t think he is starting material right now, however, I do think that the combination of Klose/Toni isn’t working and Poldi seems to work better with Klose so I feel it’s time to let Toni sit it out for a bit until he gets his form back.

Well, he played a great cross over to Oddo who then set up Klose for the winning goal. So he was involved in the only really noteworthy event of the game. I guess Toni will get a chance to play against his former club in the CL, but the Klose+Podolski combo might be worth a try as long as Toni’s poor form continues.

Bayern played poor this game as well the only difference between this game and the last game was that Bayern won. as Hoeness said here http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=583430&cc=3888 Bayern were lucky to win but it keeps them in a position where they can push up the table and take the lead. Bayern should not be matching up so evenly with bottom of the table teams. Bayern are not winning back the ball when they loose possession and it allowed KSC to hold off Bayern for most of the match and even to make a few dangerous plays in and around Bayern’s box. Klinnsman system is based on “brute force” attacking and not creativity or quick countering. thats why Ribery has not been outstanding and why Bayern’s strikers have not been dominating, Klinnsman changes the way how the team plays match to match so hopefully he will eventually unshackle Ribery and allow him to take on defenders and make plays like he used to and let Bayern start countering quickly to allow the strikers to take advantage of numerical defensive mismatches and start scoring regularly again.
